Chartered in 1945, Sheet Metal Workers Local 409 proudly represents 340 sheet metal workers and roofers from across mainland Nova Scotia. Internationally, the Sheet Metal Workers International Association (SMWIA) represents 150,000 members throughout Canada, the United States and Puerto Rico. Our members are highly trained and respected, and work in such areas as HVAC installation, fabrication, repair and service; architectural sheet metal; manufacturing, metal roofing, and more.
